vaga #1/33 ... a halt...
part XXXIII
I TAKE A BREAK
We are accompanied by sculptures of Buddha from the royal palace in Bangkok. They exemplify with the gesture of the hand "a halt" on writing this blog
“Eyes of the Vagabond” / (“Ojos de la Vagabunda”) has to be read from the oldest publication “Vaga#1/1 Introduction”,
“The Halt” of writing the blog since it has become a duty rather than a want.
These sequences of sculptures are in several semi-open pavilions, they are like corridors one after the other. There are these images of Buddha in rows perched on a platform and all with the same posture of hands. I was hallucinating, it has to do with me, that of repetition, insistence, obsession. I did not know what that gesture represented, but I did not care since the pleasure of seeing and not believing that healthy visual madness. I imagine that many saw a few and must have said ! ah, all the same !! … !! more of the same !! and they hurried out, NOPE they were all different, I took the time to see them one by one and none were repeated, you had to see the details. There are a little less than a hundred images.
beautiful sculptures patinated in gold colour and with the wear of time (centuries) it turns black in whimsical shapes. Producing curious, new, abstract and attractive patterns by itself.
The Details
they are all different images
This was just one piece in that attitude, almost at odds with the rest, I was left with a great unknown why.
However, my attitude is not to look the other way or to ignore the blog from now on. Just a PAUSE in the writing. The photo productions of "vaga # 0" will continue from time to time, I need to turn to my visual recreation, recreate something created, and "photo gallery" which are photos under a visual-themed look. Much has remained unshared and no less interesting or emotional. It also has nothing to do with the "Rudder Stroke" since it was written 18 months ago, just a pause. On the other hand, Bonnie, my South African friend here in Koh Tao, is translating the blog to English, we do it together and in parallel, I am re-editing the photos that now I know how to do it and not two years ago and improving the accents since they do not have me flummoxed as before and my exhaustion won the battle.
in the same enclosure of the royal palace was this sculpture, very peculiar. It's not Buddha, who is it?
a prince? a cupid? the God of gratitude?
so I say goodbye with a flower in hand to my faithful readers and fellow travellers who have expressed with their notes of encouragement and acknowledgements to them this gesture of gratitude and a see you soon from Thailand.
